Simon Barrad will be joined by pianist Ignat Solzhenitsyn for a performance of Shostakovich’s masterwork song cycle, Suite on Verses by Michelangelo Buonarroti, at the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society. Also on the program will be Shostakovich’s viola sonata played by master violist Hsin-Yun Huang and Solzhenitsyn for a concert of the Russian master’s final testaments.
